Too Much Adhesive Under Vinyl Flooring

I was sold roberts 2057 vinyl composition tile adhesive to use in addition to the armstrong self stick tiles.

In fact as a softer flooring adding an underlayment could mean too much cushion resulting in dents and more wear and tear sooner. But this increases the risk of glue coming up between vinyl tiles. Notches which are too large spread too much adhesive. The size of the notching is important because it controls the amount of adhesive applied.

Opt for a dense underlayment if you go for one. Gently lift the tile and spread a thin layer of adhesive on the floor. Neglecting to use a roller to smooth out the linoleum or vinyl flooring after you ve glued it in place. Keep warm water and a cleaning cloth close at hand for this purpose.

Peel back more of the tile so you can apply sufficient adhesive. It could be that there was too much adhesive glue applied under the vinyl flooring and after applying pressure on the flooring walking on it or even settling of the boards this causes the adhesive glue that hasn t fully cured to leak or to shift under the board. Apply the adhesive according to the package instructions and only in areas where the tiles aren t sticking. Choose an adhesive designed specifically for vinyl to make sure it works well.

Yes apparently i used too much. The improper application of adhesive such as too much wrong trowel used to apply it and too soft for example will allow any weighted object placed on the flooring to depress it and indent it. A selling point of luxury vinyl plank is that it is designed to be a thin installation so it can easily go in over existing floors without raising your floor height. It was applied w notched trowel.
